Nice

It sounds great, the percussion sounds nice and I also really like the rest of the instrumentation.
But the only problem is, and then I mean the only problem, that technosaur is right. You need to fix the tune, because your melodies always sound good but together they're off. You really need to fix that. And I think that in this case it's just the simple sine notes/bells that make it sound off.
But you really need to listen carefully to tune your music and you should really check out some simple music theory about scales and chord progressions, it's really simple. The instrumentation is fine, it's just the tuning.
Nonetheless, great concept, because I loved the overall structure and the instruments really fit, it's just a shame that the melodies are off.

Stavier responds:

I realized while I kept listenin' to this that you and technosaur are right. I will have to work on the tuning this week cuz Imma keep the intro, but Imma combine some of the melodies, not jumble it, but just work on it too make it all into one or somethin', if you get what I mean. As for the sine notes, that's actually a flute but I'll edit that too. Thanx for the review!!!

OMFG

This song is fucking powerful man!
I totally loved the atmosphere in the beginning, love your chord progression, your synths sound really cool and your kick is beefy as hell!
The sidechaining sounded really nice, especially the beat in the beginning sounded really crisp.
I loved your breakdown and outro, they were really calm, just to give you time to relax from the heavy beats.
Overall, I loved the whole thing, powerful and original. Keep up the good work man!

Thanks a bunch man! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and the kind words really mean a lot. Again, appreciate the well written review and positive feedback, it makes writing this stuff worth it!

Damn

My first impression was, wow!
Great bass, nice arps and that dorian chord, damn! :D
Your beat really has a nice and punchy disco feel to it, I loved it, it was really crisp.
The lead sounds really awesome, but it really needs less volume, because it overrules the other instruments, which is a shame, really.
Your video game bleeps were really cool, great touch.
Great song, I loved it, only the lead could use some volume reduction.
Great work, keep it up man!

Nice!

I like the bass for one, it sounds great, the synth hits are really cool, those really bring up the tension.
Your open hihat could use some more work, sounds too generic, you could EQ it a little, mess around with the frequencies a bit.
I love your plucks, they sound really nice.
One thing I'm still missing is a sweep up during the buildups and you could also try bringing in a sidechained sweep down, to give it a little more noise and sound.
Anyway, great remix, it sounds really nice.

SteveKaOs responds:

Thank you for the comment!

The high hat was definitely generic but I just felt like it melded with the overall percussion so well! lol but, you're right, I should give it my own flavor.

Oh the synths took me awhile to make my but I finally got it when I made one of my old experimental tracks and it's great to hear people like it ;) Thank you I love my plucks too! lol j/k

The sweeps on the buildups were too quiet I came to realize when I released this which was a bum-fest but overall this song was kind of a smooth ride and I felt like I didn't need to add too much. I've made those changes in my newest track however and I've got them sweeps covered haha

Thanks!

NOOO D:

Why are you leaving?
Who will bring us happy happy 3xOsc melodies? D':
Do you have soundcloud? 'cause then it's ok :P

Anyway, I loved the whole thing, I totally dig your style, the instrumentation is really crisp.
Omg, modulation :D
Loved it, 5/5, Fav :D

DjClyme responds:

why am i leaving...blame the zero bombers. its really discouraging to put in hours of work into a song just to have it zero bombed all to hell without an explanation. so, instead of wasting my time uploading songs here I'll upload them on alternative sights.

i use to have a soundcloud account but i stopped using that a long time ago.

i'm glad you liked my remix.

Nice!

I like it! Nice use of fx and filters. Few things to improve on here. In the intro I missed a certain point where you began to use a clap on the 2nd and the 4th kick. If you change this, keep in mind that you must absolutely NOT use that same clap you have there now. Turn that one down a little, then the other claps will get more sound.
Also, you should work on your open hihat a little. First, turn the volume down a little, then mess around with the eq to make it sound less generic (some of the high end down I think), and maaaaybe add a little bit of reverb.
At 1:54, the strings and piano are out of tune, you should try and fix that.
Anyway, nice remix! Just some points to improve on! :D

Stavier responds:

Thanx man, filtering must be like my favorite FX ever :D Just when it goes wooooo-aaaaahhhhhhhhh!!! Alrighty, I do only have one clap, but I see what you mean. Yeah, I haven't really learned how to EQ yet, so I will have to do that. Weird, the piano and strings are the same key notes. I think you meant the arpeggio though, but I haven't gotten reviews on that so I'll see. It's just somethin' that's there and goes away. Thanx for the review man!!!!

Awesome

Man, this is great, couldn't be more relaxing.
I loved your solos, I like the fact that you actually know when to play and what to play, and not just slam some notes in the right key. You've got some awesome feeling man. Everything sounded really well mastered, the instrumentation really fitted.
Anyway, great job, straight to my favourite :D

HagenColdfingers responds:

Ty:)

You finished it! :D

Haha, I loved the sample and I love this even more! :D
Sick bass man, this stuff is awesome!

Nice

I like the melodies, they're inventive. There are still some things missing though.
The whole song feels like a giant loop. It's be best if you try to give it some structure, try some more and different synths and melodies, different parts in the song, like 'intro, chorus, midsection, breakdown, chorus, outro'.
You could also work on the instrumentation some more. The sidechain is a little too heavy, there's not much more to be heard then the kick and a bit of the melody. I do hear some hihats every now and then, but it's too soft too actually participate in the song. Also, try to make the song more intense at some points by placing a clap on every 2nd and 4th kick.
The last thing that could be improved is a bassline. It would be nice if you place a nice and not too complex bass pattern in your songs.
Anyway, I love the melody, and the sidechained kick sounds cool, but it's just too repetitive. Keep it up man!

mad a few revisions. thanks for the input!

THAT SUB!

THAT SUB!
AWESOME! Ö

dj-Nate responds:

You are awesome-er

I'm an amateur producer that loves melodic music! :D I don't actually give a crap if your mastering is half-assed, as long as it's audible and it's made with some good knowledge of music! :D However, awesome mastering is always a nice extra, right? :D
